20+ Tournament 2006
Meadows West

The SCA 20+ Tournament this year was played to Short Croquet rules (14 point games on half courts) and there were four entrants - two from the Edinburgh CC and two from the Meadows CC.  With one hour time limits, and no double banking, this meant that it could be run in the morning, which it nearly was.
After quite a lot of overnight rain, and a bright, sunny morning, there was heavy dew, but Allan Hawke, who was there to play in another match, very kindly swept it away on all the courts.
Only one game finished in time (with two minutes to spare) when Robert Inder beat Joan Marshall, but in the other games total points scored ranged from 14 down to 7.
These two players and Seonaidh Edgar all passed personal milestones by chalking up their first wins in competitive singles games.  Congratulations to them all.
First place in the Tournament was closely fought between Robert and Joe Henderson, both with two wins, but Robert scored a total of two more points in all his games than Joe did.  The third and fourth places were equally closely fought, Seonaidh Edgar and Joan Marshall both winning one game, but Seonaidh had scored a total of two more points than Joan.
