THE Scottish
Croquet Association runs a number of competitions throughout the
season. They include handicap events, advanced events, golf croquet,
short croquet, singles, doubles, you name it! A few of the events
are invitation only, intended for the best players in Scotland, but most
are open to all (for a fee). As a general rule, the fee is £9 for
each day of the tournament. Non-SCA members must pay a tribute of
50% on top of the basic entry fee for each competition unless it is
their first. If a non-member chooses to join later in the
season, any such tributes paid will count towards the first year's
subscription. (Residents
outside Scotland who are full tournament members of another national
association are treated as SCA members under the World Croquet
Federation's reciprocal rights policy.)
In addition to SCA
events, clubs affiliated to the SCA run a number of their own
competitions. Some of these are listed here, but for a full list,
contact the club directly. A list of clubs and contact names can be
found on the SCA clubs and contacts page.
Most of the SCA events take
place either at Meadows West in Edinburgh or at Kelvingrove in Glasgow.
This page contains a list of events, in chronological
order, for the 2008 season. If you would like to supply details of
