Welcome to the Scottish Croquet Association

Welcome to the Scottish Croquet Association (SCA). We use this site to bring you all the latest Scottish Croquet news, details of tournaments, and information for Croquet players both established and new.

The SCA is the Scottish Governing Body (SGB) of Croquet, as recognised by sportscotland. The SCA is first and foremost concerned with the interests of Croquet players playing in Scotland, or those who regularly come and play in Scotland.

The SCA is entirely voluntarily run, is completely not-for-profit, and exists to achieve the following objectives by working with Croquet Clubs and individuals:

  1. to encourage, promote, and develop the sport of Croquet in Scotland;
  2. to promote and manage Croquet competitions and to encourage participation and improve performance at all levels;
  3. to ensure it is a fit-for-purpose Governing Body that is recognised by the sports councils, to ensure that Croquet is a recognised sport, and to ensure that Croquet is administered in a way that meets current legislation.

This website contains more information about the SCA and its policies, membership information, and more importantly, information, results, and reports about Croquet events in Scotland.

Aberdeen Tournament 2025

6-7 September, Albury

Bruce Bennet won on his first visit to Aberdeen, beating John Henderson (holder) in the final.

ACCC held its annual AC Tournament for the Aberdeen Quaich on 6/7th September at Albury Community Sports Hub. Eight players entered: John Owen (-½), Stefan Colling (1), David Houston (3), John Henderson (4), Bill Strachan (7), Bruce Bennet (14), Dave McLaughlin (14) and Robert Bell (16). It was strange not to see Roger Staples playing, having supported the event since its inception, due to health problems. I wish him well for the future.

Meadows GC D Level Open

23 August 2025, Meadows

Mike MiniekaMeadows CC hosted the first Scottish D level GC tournament and what a lovely friendly day it was with all the matches played in great spirit. The tournament was particularly aimed at less experienced players of handicap 11+ and everyone played well with all the players taking at least one win. Now they know they can win games at a tournament we hope they will go from strength to strength next year!  The winner Was Mike Minieka, the runner up Ann Dinnie and newbie Geoff Parsons was third (only been in the club 8 weeks!). Many thanks to George and team for the lawns, Willie and team for the super-straight white lines, to Alison for the cakes, to all who BYOB’d, to Kenny our Captain for helping out with hoops and presentation and to GE Awards for the lovely medals.
