With eight entrants, this year's Tournament was run as a three-round knockout of eighteen point games, plus extra non-counting games amongst those knocked out. A time limit of 2 hours 15 minutes, with an additional 3 minutes per net bisque difference between the opponents, was set for each game.
Interestingly, in the first round games, all the games finished within the allotted time. This proved not to be the case in the remaining 8 games, with 7 of those going to time.
Jola, Ruth, Brian and Alistair had wins in round one and Ruth and Alistair in round two. The final, between Ruth and Alistair, was closely contested throughout and when time was called it was Ruth who was in play. Believing the game to be tied at that point, Ruth mistakenly thought she could peg out her forward ball, thus going one ahead and leaving Alistair with a long roquet attempt and only 3 balls remaining. As it happened, Ruth had miscalculated and was already one ahead and as Alistair was to miss with his attempted roquet, Ruth went on to be the worthy winner of the Tournament.
