Basil Townsend Quaich 2011

14 May 2011, Auchincruive

This was won by Meadows Club represented by Robert Inder.  Auchincruive played Glasgow first in a close game.  As Robert arrived Dave looked like he would peg out for a close win but unfortunately made one mistake too many allowing Malcolm to peg out at last.  Robert played well against Dave and included a rover peel, spoilt a little by missing the peg out at his first try.  The final game between Robert and Malcolm swung back and forth but Malcolm had spent too many of his four bisques on sticking in the hoops, which enabled Robert to finish with a rapid and accurate break.  So Meadows regained the Basil Townsend Quaich.  Apart from that tea and cakes were enjoyed by all, on the last pleasant warm day before the continuous cold wind that lasted through the rest of May struck.
